Poor performance from CD-ROM-based program due to incorrect cache setting.
Cause:
Slow data transfer, skipping, or slow audio and video in a CD-ROM-based program can result from incorrect 'Supplemental cache size' or 'Optimize access pattern for' settings for the CD-ROM drive.
Solution:
Increase the 'Supplemental cache size' and 'Optimize access pattern for' settings for the CD-ROM drive.
NOTE: The following steps may improve the CD-ROM drive's performance. However, they will have no effect if real-mode drivers are being used for the CD-ROM drive.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
